Aloha! There are a few months during the course of the year when The
Food Basket, Inc. really needs extra help. Please contact Holly
Nagasako, 808-933-6028, if you have any questions or would like to
volunteer during any of these times. The Food Basket is also working hard at organizing
a Volunteer Program. Please fill out one of the
Volunteer Applications and specify
what kinds of things you are interested in assisting The Food Basket with.

Spring 2008 Food Drive
When needed: April 19 (one day, from morning till afternoon)
Tasks: Sign-waving (all ages) & fish-netting (age 18 and over) to collect food and funds
Where: Selected sites around the island (Lanihau Center in Kona and Prince Kuhio Plaza & Wal-Mart in Hilo)

Hilo Hattie Hootenanny 2008
When needed: November 1, 2008 (full day)
Tasks: Help set-up, serve refreshments, clean up.
Where: Sangha Hall (424 Kilauea Ave., Hilo)

Fall 2008 Food Drive
When needed: November (a few hours a day throughout a couple weeks) - until 45,000 paperbag inserts are complete
Tasks: Assembling inserts (folding paper-bags with envelopes enclosed) for Hilo, Kona, and Kamuela newspapers
Where: The Food Basket, Inc. (140-B Holomua St., Hilo) or at your home
